Today the company employs around 600 people in the 48 shops and central bakery.  The profile of the business has shifted and sales in our savouries and sandwich market challenge our traditional market of bread and confectionery.  Although as you walk through the bakery you will smell fresh baked bread mingling with the smell of freshly made chocolate truffles, all of this being put together with the passion that makes us unique.

Waterfields have a dedicated sales and technical team that work together to identify and develop new products. This is supported by both managers and directors spending time across Europe looking for new ideas to bring into the company.

To support this vibrant business the company employs excellent people that are challenged to keep ahead of an ever changing market place by producing a range of products that meet and exceed the expectations of our customers.

Each year Waterfields launch about 50 new or improved products across the range to complement our most popular lines.  We believe that by constantly reviewing and monitoring the quality of our products and introducing new refreshing ideas to widen the choice available that we will retain our existing customers and attract new customers of tomorrow.

In February 2007 the Company opened its first shop under the Waterfields Select brand, in Leigh........... 

This new concept operation concentrates on selling a range of sandwiches, soups, savouries and cakes geared towards the breakfast and lunchtime trade, for customers to 'eat on the go'.  A variety of cold drinks and Fair Trade coffee freshly brewed on the premises is also on sale.  

We are aware of our tradition and heritage and proud to be a family business but we are also a Company of today with ongoing plans for the future.  We hope this new style shop gives customers a shopping experience that reflects our independence and investment in the high street.  We will continue to develop our product choice and strive to combine both traditional and modern day culture to meet the needs of todays market.
