I'd love to work for Waterfields. Do you have any vacancies?

Yes, outside catering platters can be ordered and collected from all our shops.
Why have you stopped selling my favourite product?
Each week we make more than 140 different bakery products as well as all the sandwiches that are made fresh each day in the shop. At Christmas time this number can increase to 18 varieties of product.
In addition to this we will add about 20 new lines each year and to make space for these both in the shop and at the bakery we need to take off certain products which are normally the products with poor sales and a higher level of waste.
If you are a regular shopper you will notice that we do swap the products regularly and if there is one particular favourite then let us know and we will always consider this to be re-introduced.
How can I get nutritional information about your products?
On the website we have our most popular selling lines and all product information is listed.
If you have a more specific question or want information on a product not listed, please send an enquiry via our Contact Us Form and we will respond within one working day.
How can I get allergen information about your products?
We are a general bakery that has a full range of ingredients on-site. In our product specification it will say what is is the recipe, but please be aware that the product may be made on a site that uses the specific allergen.
A full list of associated allergens can be found on our Allergens PDF download availablein the products menu.
If you have any concerns please Contact Us with your enquiry and we will get back to you within one working day.
What happens to your left over food?
As your local bakers we want our customers to have the freshest food possible, we try to make sure there is enough food available for our customers right up until closing time, whilst at the same time we don't bake too many savouries or make up too many sandwiches later in the day, to keep the amount of unsold food as low as possible. Where food that we can't carry over is not sold, we have different arrangements across our shops:
- A number of our shops have partnerships with local charities and food banks who collect our unsold food at the end of each day.
- Where the technology is available, we send unsold food for “anaerobic digestion", which is a new technology that converts food into an energy supply. This is something we are pursuing increasingly.
- Almost all our unsold food is diverted away from landfill.
If you are a registered charity and would like to get in touch with us regarding our surplus food and you are able to collect it direct from their nearest Waterfields shop, please Contact Us.
Do you make cakes to order?
We make cakes to order, we have a separate cakes section on this website where you can order and pay online, click here to visit the site!

The following products do not use gluten containing ingredients, but are produced on a site that handles gluten:
- Florentines
- Meringues
- Brownie 4 pack

At this moment in time we do not deliver celebration cakes.
Do you sell to wholesale?
Our wholesale customers receive the same products that we are proud to sell in our own shops. We do have a minimum weekly order before we can deliver direct. Should you require more information we would be pleased to hear from you.
Why don't staff wear hairnets/gloves?
Waterfields retail staff do not use disposable gloves for food handling as we believe they can discourage regular hand washing.
Staff are required to wash hands frequently and to use hand sanitiser before commencing food handling tasks. We use a bagging glove when serving bread and we also use tongs for preparing sandwiches and when serving products from our counter. In this way, we believe we are in better control of preventing cross contamination during food handling.
